Contribution Towards Upkeep of Sunday School Ministry

Beloved parents/Guardians/Friends

I am aware that there are some of us that may be unsure as to the contribution asked for at registration for our children for Sunday School.  This is the third year that we have asked for this contribution and it goes directly towards the maintain of the many programmes we offer within the Sunday School Ministry.  Some of these are:

The reproduction/printing of material and handouts for class

The printing of the handout given to the children each week as part of their focus at Mass

T-shirts

Other material used (e.g. Material to make costumes used during children’s liturgy and Christmas plays)

I need to assure you that this is the only way the monies are used.  You will appreciate that the programme offered here at Stella Maris is markedly different than what may be offered in other places as we have, over the last five years, decided that the catechetical formation of our children must be given far more priority.  With this increased prioritization of the catechetical programme there comes an increased cost to manage the programme.  I would like to thank you for your kind participation in this regard and also use this medium to encourage the hard working volunteers ministering to our children as caregivers and catechists.

Let us continue top pray for these our children.  May God’s word continue to be a lamp to their steps and alight to their paths.  To you their parents and guardians – may the Lord continue to bless you for taking more seriously the ongoing formation of these our children – our most valued resources and gifts from God.
