Guidelines to Parents & Students

 

Welcome to Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church Sunday School. We acknowledge your commitment to building our faith and we look forward to working with your child/children on their journey. Please review our guidelines below. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and observance of these guidelines, as it will support and enhance the spiritual growth and development of our children.

 

1)      Student Attendance:

·         All students are strongly encouraged to attend weekly Mass and Sunday School.  Attending mass is a requirement for the Holy first communion and the confirmation 2010 group.

 

 2)      Material required for class:

·         Catholic Bible

·         Work Manuals

·         Stationery (exercise book, pencil, pen, sharpener and eraser. (Crayons for the classes up to Communion)

 

3)      Dress Code:

·         All students must be appropriately attired for attendance to Mass and Sunday School. (no spaghetti straps, no short shorts or skirts, no flip flop and pants must be on the waist and not on the hips, no display of under garments).

 

4)      Parents/Teachers:

·         Parents are encouraged to meet regularly with their children’s Sunday School teacher to monitor the progress and development of their children.

 

5)      Parent’s Meeting:

·         There will be at least one meeting per term with Monsignor Michael Lewis and Father Richard Brown with all the parents, students and teachers.  Notice will be given and all are encouraged to attend.

 

6)      Special Note:

·         Children should refrain from taking the following to class:
Toys, electronic games, iPods or other non-Sunday school items.
 
Cellular phones should be on vibrate or the off mode during mass or Sunday school.
