Forgetting to Pray (2697-2698)

We tend to forget to pray. The spiritual fathers (Deuteronomy and the prophets) teach that prayer must be awakened by the heart's memory. "We must remember God more often than we draw breath"  To pray "at all times" we must pray at specific times.

The Church proposes rhythms to nourish continual prayer. Prayers are said daily, morning and evening, before and after meals, and at the Liturgy of the Hours. We pray at the Eucharist on Sunday and the great feasts.
